The series aims to provide a platform for regular people in Lagos to share their stories, experiences, and many challenges they face. To achieve this, we sort out a 40-year-old boat rider, Tajudeen Balogun who the city has had a huge influence on their life and career and allowed him to speak his truth to a large radio audience for the first time in his life.

The Story of “Black Jesus” aims to reveal the intriguing reality in the city that’s said to be home to the happiest set of people in the world. The interview-style documentary achieves this by highlighting the extraordinary energy in the city which has prepared Tajudeen for the good, bad and ugly. The stories he shares are heartbreaking but he remains optimistic, assured there is always hope for better days.






Two Sides of a Coin Story, Story

As the saying goes, if you can make it in Lagos, you can make it anywhere. The Story of “Black Jesus” celebrates the famous city of Lagos and its indigenes. It offers locals a chance to share their stories to a large audience and allows diaspora Nigerians and other curious people from outside to get a glimpse into what life is like in the most populous city in Africa.
